Irish Setter
Large
Ireland
The Irish Setter breed of dog was origianlly developed in Ireland in the 18th century from a combination of setting spaniels, the Old Spanish Pointer and the early Scottish setters.
Irish Setters are in general very friendly, enjoy human company, and are very active dogs. They also love children. Due to the breed's need for frequent activity, this is an inappropriate dog for inactive families or people with small homes.
